At Reason II Rise Music, we are always on the lookout for new talent that pushes the boundaries of creativity and expression within the trance genre. One artist who has recently caught our attention is Eonun, a producer whose sound is as unique as it is captivating. With his latest release, "Eonal," on Reason II Rise: Uplift, Eonun showcases his distinct approach to trance music, blending intricate melodies with powerful grooves that leave a lasting impression.
Eonun's journey into music began at a young age, influenced by the sounds of Chinese pop music intertwined with trance. "As a child born at the beginning of the millennium, even in China, there was a lot of Chinese pop music being played using trance music," he recalls. This early exposure, coupled with his experimentation on a mobile phone DAW called Caustic, laid the foundation for his deep passion for trance music. One of the defining moments in Eonun's musical development was his encounter with the Supersaw synthesizer, which he describes as a transformative experience. "One of my deepest influences was a Supersaw synthesizer that simulated a Roland JP8000, which gave me a great shock at the time," Eonun explains. This experience, along with his exposure to trance through anime and games, planted the seeds for his future as a trance producer.
When it comes to musical influences, Eonun cites a wide range of artists who have shaped his sound. He is particularly inspired by Darren's "romantic and liberating arpeggio melodies with a thick low end that I'm fascinated by" eonun says plus Jorn van Deynhoven's "clean and powerful mixing style." These influences are evident in his music, which stands out for its meticulous attention to melody and groove. Eonun's approach to production is rooted in a deep rooted approach of mixing. "Mixing track into the kick," as described by BiXX in one of his interviews, is a concept he resonates with, although he prefers to describe it as "growing a melody on top of a kickbass" he explains. "Everything is organic and logical."
"Learning to produce is a long process, and this is especially true for mixing Trance music. It's important to have the right mindset." - Eonun
Creativity and innovation are central to Eonun's work, but they also present challenges. One of the biggest hurdles he faces is experimenting with new groove patterns while staying true to the trance genre. "Expanding on Trance rhythms and exploring unconventional mixes is one of my great creative pleasures, but it's also a challenge in terms of mixing understanding," he admits. Despite the demands of being a producer, Eonun maintains a balanced personal life. He finds solace in solitude, often spending his weekends locked in his room, making music or DJing. This time alone not only fuels his creativity but also serves as his primary form of entertainment.
Looking ahead, Eonun has several exciting releases lined up on Reason II Rise: Uplift. His upcoming track, "Ewiges Sehnen" (meaning "Eternal Thoughts"), is a continuation of the themes explored in his previous release, "Eon In End." He describes "Eonal," his latest track, as "a bomb of a track" that deepened his understanding of energy-based trance.
When asked about his experience working with Reason II Rise Music, Eonun's response is nothing short of enthusiastic. "RIIR team is one of the few artistic teams I've experienced that values the quality of the work and respects the producers," he says. This mutual respect and dedication to quality are why Eonun sees a bright future with the label.
In a world where the music industry is constantly evolving, Eonun believes that the future of trance belongs to those who dare to think outside the box. As he aptly quotes an old Chinese saying, "Flowing water never corrupts," reminding us that innovation and creativity are the keys to longevity in the industry. Eonun's journey is a look into to the power of passion, dedication, and a willingness to explore new frontiers. As we continue to work closely with him, we are excited to see how his music will evolve and inspire others in the trance community.
